Positive Steps – A 15km Charity Walk
Lloyd Park, Croydon
24th May 2014
Positive Steps is back on this year and we are expecting it to be bigger and better than last year!
You can see all the photos from last year on our Facebook page.
We had a brilliant pilot event in 2013, everyone involved had fun and we raised a bit of cash too. So the date is in the diary, the park is booked and we are keen to get your registrations in early.
Last year, the amazing Ronnie Corbett came to open the event. We are yet to confirm who will be opening the 2014 event and we will release this information as soon as we can!
- Poetry and spoken word
- Live band
- DJing and music production
Please feel free to invite friends and family, and come hungry!
I hope this finds you well and that you have been able to enjoy some of the recent sunshine. We wanted to remind you about our next patient and public engagement event and invite you to join us and contribute to the discussions.
Talking about Talking Therapies
Following a review in 2013 it was found that there was not equal access to talking therapies for all Southwark residents. As a result the CCG are in the process of evolving a service specification for future talking therapies in Southwark and are seeking the views of local residents to inform its development. Further background details about why we are doing this and what patients have previously told us can be found on the Get Involved pages of the CCG website page.
To explore this with local people we are having an engagement event on 8 April to discuss the options. You can book for the engagement event online directly (or by contacting 020 7525 7888) and the full details can be seen on the flyer which is also attached here: Talking therapy event flyer April 2014.
If you are unable to attend this event but still want to contribute you can complete the online survey as well. You do not have to have used talking therapies in Southwark to be involved, we want to hear from local people to inform how future services can best meet the needs of as many people in Southwark as possible.
We would be very grateful if you could share this information, including the link to the online survey (https://www.surveymonkey.com/s/talkingtherapy), as widely as possible to enable as many different people to contribute as we can.

Alzheimer’s does not have to be a tragic and apologetic withdrawal from life. Think of it as a shedding of all care, with two fingers at the world and a constant sense of glee. It’s a lifestyle choice for some…
A tender and unique exploration of Alzheimer’s on family relations. Julie has recorded her mother’s songs and stories, filmed and photographed over many years.
The result is a compelling piece of theatre, an extraordinary love letter sent straight from the heart, welded with a wicked sense of humour.
