The Dragon Cafe is an arts and events venue and cafe in Borough SE1. We regularly hold exhibitions by visual artists (2D only) and are looking for new artists to exhibit in the space for 4 consecutive weeks. There is no charge for exhibiting, however, all sold works are subject to 20% commission. We are open on Mondays only, 12- 8.30pm. We ask that all exhibiting artists be sympathetic to our ethos.

Book yourself a place on the Surgery Day at Network Arts for help in creating an online gallery with Outside In. You can bring along up to 5 pieces of work to be photographed, get help in writing your artist’s statement and upload it all to a personal gallery page. Each slot is 45 minutes long, please call the number below or email to book a slot.
If you already have an online gallery with Outside In, we can help you to update it with new works during one of the slots too.

They are looking for volunteers to act as their ambassadors at the festival. As a Volunteer Ambassador the main role will be to help audiences orient themselves around the eclectic range of performances.
Main activities will be to
• Provide visitors and participants with information about the festival
• Carry out stewarding acts
• Distribute and collect audience feedback forms.
• Be a friendly face for the public to approach
• Help to ensure that the festival is accessible to all
They believe that volunteers are at the heart of the festival and the more upbeat and positive the volunteers, the more brilliant the festival will be and the greater a time everyone will have!
How to apply:
Potential volunteers can apply online through a simple online form that can be found on their website. Applications open Monday 28th April and close on Monday 20th May. Applicants must be able to commit to three shifts throughout the festival (20th-28th June) and must be able to attend an induction event on the evening of Monday 9th June.

Stuff & Nonsense 2 – Wonder in Number and Film!
Our monthly creative theme of Stuff & Nonsense continues, and with it being 14.04.14 there is a particular curiosity for numbers in the programme. Declan will be exploring Number Fun at 2.22 pm and Max considering The Value of Pi/Pie at 3.14 pm – when number meets nutrition.
There are 2 art workshops to enjoy between 2-4 pm – Hearing Trumpet mask making, and fabric work with Pinky from CRAFTmate. Lots else to get involved with including the return of In Conversation with Alan at 7 pm and if you’d rather sit back and be transported into a world of wonder, then we will be having a Film Night from 6.30 pm.
As you may be aware we have now launched the Positive Practice in Mental Health Awards 2014, and intend them to be even bigger and better than last year. We would be really grateful for you circulating this information widely within your organisation, to ensure as many entries as possible.
