Last Chance to Help Shape Lambeth’s Social Care Hub

Have your say about the proposed Social Care Hub for carers, elders and disabled people in Lambeth. As you may know, in 2015, there will be significant changes to Lambeth’s information, advice and support services with existing services being brought together into a Hub.

The new service is being co-produced with service users and carers, as well as local stakeholders. This co-production process is ending soon so this week is your final opportunity to help shape the new service.

Complete an online survey by THIS FRIDAY (27th June)

·         Stakeholder (organisations / professionals): https://www.surveymonkey.com/s/YP7WP6D

·         Carers, disabled people and older people; existing service users and potential users of these services: https://www.surveymonkey.com/s/CFSLKJ3

More Info:

Work is currently underway to develop a new information, advice and support service for carers, disabled people and elders within Lambeth. (NB.  Information and advice for mental health service users will continue through Mosaic Clubhouse and Southwark and Lambeth Mind etc.)

The new service – for now called the Social Care Hub – will bring together Carers Hub Lambeth and Lambeth Resolve as well as the Direct Payment Support Service, Young Carers Project, the Carers Breaks service and the Fix Yourself a Break scheme administered by the Council.

Lambeth Council is working alongside Age UK Lambeth, South Thames Crossroads, Disability Advice Service Lambeth, Lambeth Mencap, Healthwatch Lambeth, Certitude and NHS Lambeth to develop the new service.

The new service is being co-produced with service users and carers, and we also want to hear from local stakeholders who work with disabled and older people and carers.  Tell us what you would like the Social Care Hub to do, and how and where you want to see it delivered.

HOW YOU CAN HELP…

  • Circulate widely to your staff teams, networks and carers, elders and disabled people.

You have until this Friday (27th June) to give your views.

Hello everyone

I hope you’re all able to enjoy the sunshine, now that it’s arrived.   I thought I would send out a last minute reminder about an opportunity coming up soon.  You may already be aware that Time To Change is running another London pop-up event this month in Brixton.  This event is one of a series that is has been designed by and for people of African and Caribbean backgrounds and is known as Stereohype.    The event will take place in Windrush Square in Brixton from 12 noon to 5pm.

Stereo-Hype Brixton Volunteer Recruitment

If you’d like the chance to practice your speaking out skills by talking to members of the public, then do sign up.  For newbies at speaking to the public there are 4 training sessions next week that you can book a place on and I shall be one of the volunteer co-ordinators on the day to support you.

Let me know if you’re signing up and I’ll make a point of finding you and catching up!

Also, don’t forget that London Champions now have our own Facebook group!   It’s a closed group so you would need to contact our administrator first, so if you use Facebook and would like to join us then please search for Robert Peacock and send him a friend request, then he can add you to the group.

All the very best

Shaping health services in south east London

The NHS has six clinical commissioning groups (CCGs) in south east London (Bexley, Bromley, Greenwich, Lambeth, Lewisham and Southwark).  They are working together with commissioning leads from NHS England – London, and in close partnership with local authorities, hospitals, community health services, mental health services, patients, carers and local people on a five year strategy to improve health services across south east London. We are inviting people who live or work in south east London to apply to join our patient and public voices, who are at the centre of shaping and informing this clinically-driven strategy for local health services with us.

There are opportunities to join one of the groups working on planned health care, maternity services, children and young people, long term conditions – physical and mental health, primary and community care, cancer, and urgent and emergency care.  Or to work with one of our strategic (planning) groups – Partnership Group, Clinical Executive Group or Clinical Commissioning Board –  providing overall governance and direction for the local health strategy. All these groups meet regularly at central London venues and usually during daytime working hours.

We are particularly keen to hear from people who can bring the perspective from south east London’s communities whose voices are seldom heard in healthcare planning, and people who can contribute our strong commitment to equalities and diversity.

If you are interested in knowing more about any of these roles, please contact Laura Luckhurst on 0203 049 9916 or e-mail laura.luckhurst@nhs.net.

The deadline for completed applications is 5 pm on Friday 27th June 2014.

Invitation to our stakeholder engagement events in June 2014

We would like to invite you as local stakeholders to share your views on health services in south east London.

South East London Five Year Commissioning Strategy

The six NHS organisations (Clinical Commissioning Groups – or CCGs) in south east London with the job of planning and buying local healthcare services, are working in close partnership with local councils, NHS hospitals, mental health and community service providers and with local people, patients and other key stakeholders to develop a new five year commissioning strategy for health services across south east London.

The aim of the strategy is to improve health services for everyone in the London boroughs of Bexley, Bromley, Greenwich, Lambeth, Lewisham, and Southwark. The strategy will address those issues that cannot be solved by one area alone or where there is more that can be achieved by working together.

Event details:

As part of the wider engagement across south east London, we are holding two engagement events in early June 2014. The events will be independently facilitated. In addition to learning more about the partners’ shared emerging vision for local healthcare services, you will have the opportunity to help shape the strategy across seven key areas:

Urgent and emergency care

Primary and community care

Maternity

Children and young people

Integrated care for physical and mental health

Planned care

Cancer

Feedback from the events will be independently analysed and used to inform how we develop the strategy further and published as part of our engagement feedback on the CCGs’ websites.

Please note that attendance at these events is on a first come first served basis and we will ensure there is a balance of representatives from across the boroughs. If we have reached our booked capacity, we will add you to a waiting list.

Thank you in advance for your interest. We hope that you will be able to prioritise your attendance as we are keen to ensure that your views continue to be heard as a vital part of developing the strategy.
