Our new creative theme for the month of May is Ebb & Flow. Taking inspiration from the River Thames that flows so near The Dragon Cafe, we’ll be journeying through the ‘tidal shifts’ of the mind. This week we’ll be connecting with the Amazon River via the Brazilian theatre-arts group VivArtista, and special guest Vitor Pordeus.
At 2 pm Vitor leads a workshop of song, dance and drums for the Dionysian Pageant; later at 7 pm he will introduce us to the wonder of ‘The Hotel and Spa of Madness’. Other creative groups will fill the day and as the weather improves try our Boxing, Tai Chi or GardenWorks, all outside. Viva The Dragon Cafe!

This Bank Holiday we will be open as usual and our monthly creative theme of Stuff & Nonsense continues. On Monday we will be trying to make sense (or perhaps nonsense) of our senses and celebrating the famous playwright’s 450th anniversary. Treat your hands, eyes and mind with Nail-Works at 2 pm, Optical Poetry at 5 pm, and Sensing Our Senses talk by Neuropsychology researchers at 7 pm. There will also be music for your ears and a tasty fresh menu from the kitchen to enjoy too!

Our monthly creative theme of Stuff & Nonsense continues, and with it being 14.04.14 there is a particular curiosity for numbers in the programme. Declan will be exploring Number Fun at 2.22 pm and Max considering The Value of Pi/Pie at 3.14 pm – when number meets nutrition.
There are 2 art workshops to enjoy between 2-4 pm – Hearing Trumpet mask making, and fabric work with Pinky from CRAFTmate. Lots else to get involved with including the return of In Conversation with Alan at 7 pm and if you’d rather sit back and be transported into a world of wonder, then we will be having a Film Night from 6.30 pm.
