Lewisham-on-Sea 26 October 2013Posted: September 16, 2013
Do you live in or near to Lewisham in South East London? Would you be willing to talk about your personal experiences of mental health problems to help break down stigma?
Time to Change Needs You!
The Time to Change Village; ‘Lewisham-on-Sea’ will ‘pop-up’ at Lewisham Shopping Centre in Autumn. A new date has been confimed for Saturday 26 October and we’re looking for 60 volunteers from London to join our team.
The Time to Change Village is an interactive space, where the public can have open conversations about mental health, whilst engaging in a range of activities and having lots of fun.
When people meet our Village Volunteers with lived experience they will find out more about the realities of mental health. This helps to challenge the prejudices and stereotypes which often lead to discrimination.
What you can expect?
When you volunteer at a Time to Change Village, our Volunteer Co-ordinators will be there to support you on the day.
You will get the chance to attend a training session before the event, to help you speak confidently to people visiting our seaside themed village in Lewisham Shopping Centre and have lots of fun!
Please indicate on the online registration form below if you would like to be offered a place on a training session.
We can reimburse your travel expenses of up to £15 for attending your training session and up to £15 travel expenses for attending the event. Please keep receipts or your proof of purchase.
If this is your first experience of volunteering at a Time to Change event, at the training session you will also find out how to become a Time to Change Champion too.
